SHAH ALAM, Malaysia, 1 June 2012 — The first Inokom Commercial Vehicle centre in Malaysia was officially opened. Located in the heart of Shah Alam Industrial Area near the national car company, the new centre is specially designed and equipped at a cost of more than RM1.5 million to cater for the sales and service of all types of Inokom commercial vehicles.

“Since the first Inokom commercial vehicle was launched on 6 May 2000, more than 10,000 units have been sold in Malaysia,” said Tuan Syed Mudzhar Syed Ali, CEO, Inokom Corporation Sdn Bhd. “As such, the time is right to start creating centres dedicated to the convenience of customers in the country.”

The centre was built to cater for the heavy, large and high vehicles. Electrical, air and hydraulic supply lines are designed to come from the ceiling level instead of the conventional underground system found in 3S centres for passenger cars. There is ample space inside and outside the large 15,000sq ft building for the ease of manoeuvring commercial vehicles. The hydraulic lifts are extra heavy duty to cater for fully laden trucks that needs immediate repairs. Daily service capacity is 15-20 vehicles and expanding.

Some fast moving stocks of genuine spare parts are always at hand to ensure a fast turnover of vehicles being serviced. Prices of spare parts are very competitive which will further attract more and more fleet operators to switch to the more cost efficient and durable Inokom commercial vehicles.

A fully air-conditioned showroom and discussion room will also attract fleet operators to come over and have a look at the latest Inokom trucks. On hand to help out are well-trained sales personnel under a Branch Manager to ensure that every walk-in customer ends the visit fully satisfied with product information provided and satisfactory prices

For the convenience of drivers waiting for their Inokom trucks to be serviced and/or repaired, there is a comfortable air-conditioned lounge complete with light refreshments. Large glass areas allow them to watch their vehicles being worked on by trained mechanics from the Inokom Automotive Technical College. For added security, the premise is under a 24/7 security guard complete with CCTV at strategic locations.

There are more than 40 authorised sales and service centres throughout Malaysia and five in the Klang Valley alone. Some of them may be upgrading to the more customer-friendly and convenient 3S centres soon as the demand for commercial vehicles continues to increase.

Despite only two models available in Malaysia – the AU26 (popularly known as ‘Lorimas’) 1.5-tonner and the AD3 5-tonner – Inokom trucks are averaging more than 1,500 units sales per annum and increasing steadily. Based on the tough and proven Hyundai mechanicals, the Inokom commercial vehicles are proving to be the best value for money investments in their respective categories. Moreover the new AD3 Turbo comes with an industry leading 3-years or 120,000km warranty for the peace of mind of business operators who are extremely sensitive to vehicle operating costs and downtime.

In anticipation of the impending Malaysian government’s ruling to have all heavy commercial vehicles to comply with the Euro2 exhaust emission ruling soon and in conjunction with the official opening of its first Commercial Vehicle Centre, the AD3 Turbo (Euro2) was also introduced at the same time. The main difference is the addition of a factory-installed turbo-charger to the engine to ensure more complete combustion of fuel in order to reduce exhaust emission. The added benefit is the nearly 40 percent increase in torque without affecting the fuel consumption. This variant gives an option to fleet operators an opportunity to opt for the more advanced Euro2 compliant commercial vehicle now.

The AD3 (also known as HD5000) is a five-tonne truck that is gaining popularity and was launched on 27 March 2007. It is a tough commercial vehicle with the latest features at very competitive pricing. It is based on Hyundai’s global top selling commercial vehicle and can be adapted for all types of application, subject to local Road Transport authority’s approval.

With the introduction of the AD3 Turbo (Euro2) variant, Malaysian commercial vehicle operators now have a choice of the entry-level AU26 (Lorimas), AD3 Euro1 and the AD3 Turbo (Euro2) to choose from. Whatever their choice, they are assured of Inokom’s proven reliability, low operating costs, durability and competitive pricing.
